Grade of WU (Withdrew Unofficially)
The grade of WU is assigned by the instructor when a student has ceased attending class and has not officially withdrawn. The grade is computed as a failure (0.0) in the grade point average (GPA), which may result in the adjustment of financial aid funds. Up to 9 credits of WU grades are not computed in the grade point average when a student repeats a WU course and receives a grade of B or better, provided that a student may retake a particular WU course no more than once. Original WU grades, however, remain on the student's official transcript. Students who want to withdraw from a class are therefore advised to do so via CUNYfirst prior to the end of the tenth week of classes.
