PMT 789 Human and Social Vulnerability and Disaster

This course engages with concepts of social vulnerability in the context of emergency management, including socioeconomics, race, age, ethnicity, language, gender, physical ability, health, and sexual orientation. The need to include the concept of vulnerability in all phases of disaster management is illustrated, and examples of best practices and continuing challenges are presented.
