This course is an overview of emergency response with a focus on large scale disasters. The course is made up of three main components concerning the role of the public, private and nonprofit sectors in responding to large scale disasters, the management issues generated during response operations, and the role played by improvisation, creativity and innovation in responding to large scale disasters.
