Credit Load
In order to be considered a full-time graduate student, students must register for a minimum of 9 credits per semester. However, a minimum of 12 credits per semester is still required for in-state students to receive flat rate tuition. Please see the 'Tuition and Fees' section of this bulletin for more information.
No student may register for more than 60 graduate credits during their course of graduate study at John Jay without the approval of the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Vice President for Enrollment Management, and then the student may only register for courses needed for graduation. In addition, no student may register for more than 15 credits in a given semester without the approval of the Dean of Graduate Studies.
