LIT 270 Reading and Writing Children's Literature

3 hours

Analysis of the best classical, contemporary, and multi-cultural children’s literature, with a view toward imitation.  Reading of works such as the Grimm fairy tales, Tom Sawyer, The Wizard of Oz, Sounder, Charlotte’s Web, and Bravo’s Book of Fables; instruction in writing types such as beast fables, teenage problems stories, nonsense verse, and fantasies.
