PMT 770 Climate Change Impacts and Emergency Management

This course examines the global scientific consensus on anthropogenic climate change and its projected impacts on human settlements. Participants will explore the evidence supporting the scientific consensus and the impacts, positive and negative, on regions and cities. The implications of these impacts will be examined from the perspective of disaster risk reduction, with its emphasis on recovery, mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. The course emphasizes the responsibility of emergency managers to inform sustainable responses to climate change impacts through community engagement and collaboration.
